We process information about you in accordance with our privacy policy. By using our site, you consent to such processing and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Uploading material to our site

We provide interactive services on our site, by providing registered mentors and mentees a channel for communicating with one another on an anonymous basis, either by messaging through a mentee’s secure profile. In doing so, registered mentors and mentees will be able to upload written content to our site (via the mentee's secure profile). Those communications will remain in the secure area of a mentee's profile, unless the mentee and the relevant mentor permit us to make those communications available to other registered mentees of our site.

Whenever you make use of the above feature, you must comply with the content standards set out in our acceptable use policy. You warrant that any such contribution does comply with those standards, and you indemnify us for any breach of that warranty (meaning that you must reimburse us for any costs we incur as a result of your breaching those standards). This helps us to ensure we are making the best use of our funding and not wasting it unnecessarily.

Any content you post to a secure profile on our site will be considered confidential, unless you ask us to publish it as a thread in the discussion forum in the registered members' general area (this will require the permission of both the mentor and the mentee involved in the communication), in which case it will become non-confidential. In all cases, any such content (whether confidential or not) will be considered non-proprietary (meaning that you assign all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the material to us), and we have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such material for any purpose, although we will not publish confidential material unless asked to by a mentee (as referred to above). We also have the right to disclose confidential communications to an appropriate and responsible third party if we consider it necessary to prevent someone from suffering serious harm.

We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any materials posted by you or any other user of our site.

We have the right to remove any material or posting you make on our site if, in our opinion, such material does not comply with the content standards set out in our acceptable use policy.

How is The Mentor Hive moderated?

Our network provides an On-Line Mentor scheme which provides an introduction to a Mentor for e.g. new Business Start-Ups. For Mentors that select to provide 'face to face' mentor support when registering, an Ixion Mentor Coordinator will contact you to discuss this service before you are allowed to have face to face contact with any Mentee's. Mentors & Mentee's that select to provide support via Skype, do so at their own risk, as conversations on Skype are outside the control of the Mentor Hive. Mentors and Mentee's are required to adhere to our Terms, Company Policies and Procedures.

The Mentor Hive offers an online solution to mentor the unemployed (and those employed) and those wanting to start or grow their own business. We have a registration process for Mentors.

Mentor Moderation is simply a review of the prospective Mentors comments on their registration form and that their backgound appears to be suitable for an on-line mentor role.

Mentors & Mentee's must adhere to the strict safeguarding policies and our other policies. You agree to ensure that you do NOT share any confidential information about yourself and that you conduct your activities at your own risk and that you agree not to meet in person (other than Skype) any other Mentor or Mentee, as a resut of the Sites purpose and terms. We strongly suggest you use a private e-mail and Skype address that cannot be traced back to yourself in any way that may out you at risk.

Mentees that are registered with our Network will be able to access the Mentor service. Interactions between Mentor and Mentee is anonymous, with protection built in to allow inappropriate interactions to be reported to us and we request that you help moderate your own discussions and those of others and make sure you do not use language that is considered abusive, obscene, defamatory or generally unlawful, nor ever to divulge and personal or sensitive data. We reserve the right to remove or block interactions between Mentor or Mentee at our discretion.

If you have any concerns of a Mentor or Mentee relating to the Governments PREVENT (preventing extremism) agenda you agree to inform us immediately, in confidence and as per our policies.

We cannot moderate interactions inside or outside of The Site nor discussions that take place using Skype which are therefore entirely at your own risk.

What should I do if I want to close my Mentor account?

If at any time you want to stop being a Mentor, please e-mail (or call Ixion Holdings (Contracts) Ltd) and we will contact you to make arrangements for your Mentor Account to be removed. Once your Mentor Account has been removed, it cannot be re-instated and therefore we would encourage you to keep your account live, but change your profile to remove all areas in which you offer help so that your Mentor Profile does not come up in a Mentee Search, and decline any requests you receive until such time that you are available to Mentor again. We will not be able to remove historic conbversations with other Mentee's or Mentors on the site, rather you agree that you Account with us and our Site be closed for future activity.

Are there any restrictions to registering or being a Mentor or Mentee of TheMentorHive?

You must be 18 or over to register as a Mentor or Mentee and open to UK residents only.

If you are a Mentor or Mentee you agree to not try to sell or promote any activity that you, your friends or family or associates may benefit from to any Mentee or Mentor of the MentorHive. In the event that this is judged by Ixion that you purport to have done or done, that you agree that at Ixion's sole discretion you will be removed as a MentorHive Mentor or as a Mentee. This will be done without any recourse or action from you against Ixion, nor will you be able to seek any damages, costs etc against or from Ixion.
